Participating in MLS's annual elite youth tournament for U-17 academy teams, the Chicago Fire U-16 Academy side faced two MLS opponents over the weekend at the 2016 Generation adidas Cup in Frisco, Texas.
The U-16s opened tournament play with a 1-0 win over Seattle Sounders FC on March 17, courtesy of a 27th-minute goal by Christian Marquez. In Sunday's second match, the Fire fell 3-1 to Orlando City SC.
The U-16s (1-1-0, 3 points) conclude Group B play against group-leading Chivas de Guadalajara (2-0-0, 6 points) at 12 p.m. CT Tuesday (March 22). The match will be available via live webstream in the video player above. The top team in each of the four Premier Division groups will advance to the semifinals on Thursday, March 24.
