Coming off a successful stop in the Lone Star State, Chicago Fire FC continues its road trip, this time heading north of the border to face Toronto FC at BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario. Kickoff in Canada is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. CT. The match will be broadcast live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, and transmitted locally in English on wlsam.com and in Spanish on Que Buena 105.1 FM via the Uforia App.

Chicago Fire Director of Football and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter has named the following starting XI to take on the Reds on the road:

  • Two changes have been made to the Starting XI that earned a 3-1 victory against FC Dallas last Saturday in Frisco, Texas.
  • Philip Zinckernagel returns to the lineup after missing last week due to injury. The Danish winger appeared on the Starting XI on the right wing in both of the Fire’s first two matches of the season and will be back in support of back-to-back MLS Team of the Matchday forward Hugo Cuypers and left winger Jonathan Bamba.
  • After appearing in every match of 2025 as a substitute, Mauricio Pineda makes his first start of the season in the midfield. The midfielder will make a team-leading 102nd start of his career with the Men in Red alongside fellow Homegrowns Brian Gutiérrez and Sergio Oregel, Jr. in the center of the pitch.
  • Goalkeeper Chris Brady makes his fourth start of the season following a five-save performance against FC Dallas last Saturday, his 32nd consecutive start with Chicago.
  • Defender Jack Elliott will don the captain’s armband for the first time with Chicago. The center back has played in every minute of the Fire’s season, and will pair up with fellow defender Sam Rogers for the third consecutive time this season in front of Brady.
  • Coming off his first goal of the season and second with the Club, defender Andrew Gutman will line up once again at left back. He will line up opposite Jonathan Dean, who has started every match of the 2025 season at right back.
  • Defenders Carlos Terán (Lower Body) and Chase Gasper (Lower Body); and midfielders Kellyn Acosta (Lower Body), Dylan Borso (Lower Body), Rominigue Kouamé (Lower Body), David Poreba (Lower Body), and Chris Mueller (Not Due to Injury) will be unavailable for selection for today’s match.
  • Available off the bench will be goalkeeper Jeff Gal; defenders Leonardo Barroso, Omar González, and Christopher Cupps; midfielders Maren Haile-Selassie, Omari Glasgow, Harold Osorio and Sam Williams; and forward Tom Barlow.
