Harrison, N.J. (April 5, 2025) – Chicago Fire FC is back on the road, headed eastbound to face the New York Red Bulls at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, N.J. First kick is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT. The match will be broadcast across the globe on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, and transmitted locally in English on wlsam.com and in Spanish on Que Buena Fire via the Uforia App.

Chicago Fire FC Director of Football and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter has named the following Starting XI looking for a record-tying fourth road victory in a row:

  • Four changes have been made to the Starting XI that faced Canadian sides Vancouver Whitecaps FC and CF Montréal the last two weeks.
  • Defender Carlos Terán will start his first match since Matchday 1, filling in for Jack Elliott in the backline (Lower Body). He will line up next to Sam Rogers, who earns his sixth consecutive start of the year at center back.
  • Homegrown defender Justin Reynolds replaces Leonardo Barroso (Lower Body) at right back. The Chicago native will see his first start of the year – and second of his career – opposite another Chicago Fire Academy graduate, left back Andrew Gutman.
  • Midfielder Kellyn Acosta returns to captain the Men in Red for the first time since the road victory over FC Dallas on March 8. He will line up next to Homegrown midfielder Sergio Oregel, Jr., who has started every match of the 2025 season thus far.
  • Rominigue Kouamé will make his first start for Chicago in his third appearance for the Club in a row. The midfielder scored minutes into his MLS debut at the Vancouver Whitecaps on March 22 and played 33 minutes in the 1-1 draw against CF Montréal last week in Chicago.
  • The frontline trio of Jonathan Bamba, Hugo Cuypers and Philip Zinckernagel will lead the attack for the sixth time in seven matches this season. Zinckernagel will hope to score in his third consecutive match after tallying his first MLS goal in Vancouver and adding his second in Chicago against Montréal. Cuypers seeks his sixth in six matches, while Bamba will look to add to his league-leading four assists this year.
  • Beside Elliott and Barroso, defenders Jonathan Dean (Torso) and Chase Gasper (Lower Body); and midfielders Brian Gutiérrez (Lower Body), David Poreba (Lower Body) and Chris Mueller (Not Due to Injury) will not be available for selection tonight.
  • Goalkeeper Jeff Gal; defenders Omar González and Christopher Cupps; midfielders Maren Haile-Selassie, Mauricio Pineda, Omari Glasgow, Dylan Borso and Sam Williams; and forward Tom Barlow will be available off the bench for tonight’s match.
