CHICAGO (Nov. 7, 2024) – Chicago Fire FC and U.S. Soccer today announced that Chicago Fire Academy defender Hugo Berg and midfielder Roko Pehar have been called to the U.S. U-16 Men’s Youth National Team for a training camp to be held from Nov. 10-19 in Toluca, Mexico. The U.S. will face Mexico on Nov. 15 and Nov. 18 during the camp.
It’s the second call-up for Berg and Pehar under head coach Alex Aldaz as the two players joined the U-16 USMYNT for a domestic training camp in Fayetteville, Ga., in September.
Earlier this year, Berg also participated in the Vlatko Markovic Tournament in Northern Croatia in May. He was also part of the Chicago Fire Academy U-15 side that won the 2024 U-15 MLS NEXT Cup with a 3-1 victory against the LA Galaxy at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tenn., in June. Pehar did not participate in the tournament due to injury.
