Chicago Fire U-18 Academy players Collin Fernandez (#14 above), Cameron Lindley (#8) and Mauricio Pineda (#15) are making waves with the U.S. U-18 Men’s National Team at the 21st International Tournament of Vaclev Jezek in the Czech Republic this week.
On Wednesday, the U.S. side took on Hungary with Lindley starting up top and Pineda at the back. Both had strong performances as did Fernandez who came off the bench to assist on Haji Wright’s icing 82nd minute goal in the team’s 3-1 tournament opener.
On Thursday, all three started and Fernandez was at it again, first assisting on Sebastien Saucedo’s opening marker in the 47th minute before scoring a goal of his own in the 51st en route to the team’s 3-2 victory over hosts Czech Republic.
The U.S. will now face Ukraine for the tournament title on Saturday, time TBD.
