CHICAGO (June 7, 2017) — The Chicago Fire Academy U-16 and U-18 sides and Indiana Fire Academy U-18s each learned their opponents for the group stage of the 2017 U.S. Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) Playoffs. Group play will take place June 22-26 at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind.
At the U-18 level, Indiana Fire Academy finished third in the Central Mid-America Division (16-8-1, 49 pts.) while the Chicago Fire Academy took the sixth overall Wild Card spot with their fifth-place divisional finish (12-5-8, 44 pts.). The squads were drawn into Group G and Group F, respectively:
The Fire U-16s earned the top Wild Card position with a record of 15-8-2 (47 pts.), good for fourth place in the Central Mid-America Division. They were drawn into Group A along with fellow MLS clubs Montreal Impact and Atlanta United FC along with Players Development Academy (N.J.).
