Saturday, March 21 vs. Atlanta United | 2:30 p.m. CT
A no-brainer. Chicago Fire FC hosts Atlanta United FC at historic Soldier Field on Saturday, March 21, making official the Club’s return to the heart of downtown Chicago for the 2020 season and beyond. The Fire will formally kick off a season-long celebration of the city, the sport and the Club on the lakefront with a matchup against the reigning U.S. Open Cup champs and 2019 Eastern Conference runners up, whom the Fire dispatched 5-1 in their last visit to the Windy City.
Saturday, April 25 vs. LAFC | 2:30 p.m. CT
Led by reigning MLS MVP and Golden Boot Award winner Carlos Vela, the 2019 Supporters' Shield holders visit Chicago for just the second time since entering the league as an expansion side in 2018. The match also marks a return to Soldier Field for LAFC head coach Bob Bradley, who coached the Fire from 1998-2002 during the Club’s first stint at Soldier Field. The Fire are undefeated against Bradley and LAFC in their two seasons of existence, earning a 2-1 win in their inaugural meeting in Chicago on DATE, and a 0-0 draw at Banc of California Stadium last May.
Saturday, May 9 vs. Inter Miami CF | 2 p.m. CT
Early May marks the Fire’s first-ever meeting with 2020 expansion side Inter Miami CF, as the David Beckham-owned club makes its inaugural visit to Soldier Field. May 9 will be Fire fans’ only opportunity to watch one of next season’s newcomers in person, as Nashville SC are one of three Western Conference teams -- including Real Salt Lake and Houston Dynamo -- the Fire will not face in the 2020 regular season. The Saturday afternoon matchup kicks off at 2 p.m. CT on ABC, offering an opportunity for Fire fans to showcase Chicago on national television.
Sunday, July 5 vs New York City FC | 6 p.m. CT
The holiday weekend wraps with a Sunday evening kickoff against New York City FC. Come out for a primetime summer clash between the Fire and the 2019 Eastern Conference regular season point leaders, as the Club looks to light up their Big Apple adversaries like lakefront fireworks.
Sunday, Aug. 9 vs. LA Galaxy | 5:30 p.m. CT
The Fire cap a three-game home stand on Sunday, Aug. 9 when the LA Galaxy make their biennial trip to Chicago. Led by Mexican National Team stars Javier "Chicharito" Hernández and Jonathan dos Santos as well as U.S. Men’s National Teamer Sebastian Lletget and rising Argentinian star Cristian Pavón, the Galaxy will bring an international array of talent to the Chicago shore.
That Sunday wraps up a busy week at Soldier Field, as the Fire will host 2019 MLS Cup runners-up Toronto FC (Saturday, Aug. 1), Western Conference foes San Jose Earthquakes (Wednesday, Aug. 1), and the Galaxy over an eight-day early August stretch.
Saturday, Sept. 5 vs. Sporting Kansas City | 2:30 p.m. CT
An early September Saturday afternoon sets the stage for a visit from Western Conference side Sporting Kansas City and new forward Alan Pulido. Kansas City broke their club transfer record to acquire the Mexican international from Liga MX side Chivas de Guadalajara in December, where he'd led the 2019 Apertura with 12 goals scored. New Fire Designated Player Robert Berić and the Fire front line will look to out-duel their interconference counterparts come kickoff along the lakeshore.
Saturday, Sept. 26 vs. Montreal Impact | 7 p.m. CT
The Fire wrap their 2020 regular season home schedule with a visit from the Montreal Impact and their new head coach (and French national team legend) Thierry Henry. Securing full points at home is crucial to every team’s postseason prospects, and – with six of the Club’s last eight matches on the road - the Fire will look to do just that in a key late-season intraconference clash.
