CHICAGO(March 20, 2021) – Chicago Fire FC Academy faced cross-town rival FC United at the U-19, U-17, U-15, U-14 and U-13 levels on Saturday. The Fire Academy finished the weekend with six wins, 19 goals scored and four clean sheets, while conceding only three goals.
Matches kicked off with the U-19 Fire Academy winning 4-0 against FC United’s U-19 team. Luka Bezerra put the Fire on the scoreboard in the first half, with Misael RodrĂguez scoring twice and Max Vierascoring the final goal in the second half.
The following match featured the U-17 Chicago Fire FC Academy and FC United sides. FC United scored first, but Costa Edlund tied it up at one in the first half. A goal from LukaIvancicin the second half and an FC United own goal put the final score at 3-1for the Fire.
Next up was the U-15 age group, with goals from Aiden Frick and Nick Mitrega giving the Fire the 2-0 lead at the half. Max Padua and Michael Ramirez added one goal each in the second half or the 4-0 Fire win.
At the U-14 level, the teams were tied 1-1 at halftime with a Fire goal from Daniel Zepeda. Omar Ortiz and MarioStoka scored in the second half for the final 3-2 score in favor of the Fire. The U-13 Fire Academy team wrapped up the weekend’s games with a solid 5-0 win. Oscar Pineda scored first, then a VitaliyHlyut hattrick and a ParkerAmoo-Mensah penalty kick rounded out the scoring.
