CHICAGO(June 14, 2021) – The Chicago Fire FC Academy hosted FC Cincinnati at the turf field at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Ill. on Saturday, June 12, posting a 1-1-1 record and having two matches postponed. The Fire also hosted the Cincinnati United Premier U-13 and U-14 teams on Sunday, June 13, going undefeated in those matches.
The MLS Next match date started off with the U-13 Fire Academy defeating FC Cincinnati 6-1 with two goals each from Andrej Ilich (Parker Amoo-Mensah, unassisted), Vitaliy Hlyut (Ilich, Amoo-Mensah) and Amoo-Mensah (unassisted).
At the U-15 level, the teams played to a scoreless draw. Two goals from Michael Nesci at the U-17 age level were not enough as the Fire Academy fell 3-2 against FC Cincinnati. Saturday’s U-14 and U-19 matches against FC Cincinnati were postponed due to inclement weather.
On Sunday, the U-13 and U-14 Fire Academy teams faced Cincinnati United Premier, with the U-13 squad winning 6-0, with two goals each from Vitaliy Hlyut (Parker Amoo-Mensah), Oscar Pineda (unassisted) and Aaron Inech (Liam Healey).
The U-14 Fire Academy followed suit with a 7-0 victory against Cincinnati United Premier. Marius Aiyenero scored four goals (Nick Mitrega, Anthony Masino, unassisted), Jayden Quezada scored twice (Mario Stoka, Leonardo Orejarena) and Masino scored once.
