CHICAGO(May 10, 2021) – The Chicago Fire FC Academy U-13, U-14, U-17 and U-19 teams hosted their Indiana Fire Academy counterparts at SeatGeek Stadium on Saturday, May 8. The Fire finished the weekend with an MLS Next record of 3-1-0 across the four age groups in MLS Next play.
Parker Amoo-Mensah set the tone for the U-13 Fire Academy, scoring two goals in the 4-1 win against Indiana Fire. He was assisted by Jack Wesley and Andrej Ilich. Michael Sarna and Ethan Koranda scored a goal apiece for the final score.
The U-14 Fire Academy squad suffered its first league loss of the season, falling 0-1 in the second match of the day.
At the U-17 level, Christian Baumgartner (Celestino Vasquez) and Matija Mitrovic (penalty) scored in the hard-fought 2-1 victory.
The U-19 squad earned a 5-0 win against Indiana Fire, propelled by two goals from Luka Bezerra (Sergio Oregel, Missael RodrĂguez). Oregel and RodrĂguez each went on to score a goal of their own, as did Noeh Hernández (Oregel).
The U-15 Fire Academy faced the U-16 Indiana Fire Academy in a friendly match, winning 3-1 with goals from Max Padua (Kamden Held), Kevin Contreras (Daniel Szkodon) and Aiden Frick (Michael RamĂrez). The U-15 Fire Academy will face the U-15 Indiana Fire Academy in official MLS Next competition on Sunday, May 16.
