The Chicago Fire Academy U-16 team are set to resume play in the Generation adidas Cup tournament on Saturday afternoon against Toronto FC.
The Fire's opened their tournament with a contest against Sporting Kansas City on Friday night. After the two sides finished extra time level at 2-2, a penalty kick shootout ended 6-5 in Sporting's favor. The Fire were able to erase SKC leads twice in regular time with goals from Victor Bezerra and Roberto Alonzo, but the tournament hosts ultimately claimed the victory.
The Fire will kickoff against Toronto FC at 4:30 p.m. CT, and will round out their tournament against against the Houston Dynamo on Oct. 10. The remaining schedule for this weekend's Academy competition in Kansas City is below:
