BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (Oct. 4, 2022) - The Chicago Fire Academy continued their hot start to the MLS NEXT regular season this past weekend, traveling to Livonia, Mich. on Saturday to face the Michigan Wolves Soccer Academy. Both the U-13 and U-14 academy teams swept a weekend pair of matches.
U-14 Academy
The U-14’s kicked off the weekend and found a way to keep their win streak alive with a 6-0 victory over Michigan Wolves Soccer Academy on Saturday. The victory featured a pair of goals from Ronaldo Garcia, as well as goals from Robert Turdean, Denzel Palacios, Tomas Cortes, and Juan Camacho. With this result, the U-14 extends their win streak to five games, and remain undefeated in regular season play and sit at the top of the standings in the Mid-America Division with 15 points.
U-13 Academy
The U-13 Academy rounded out the weekend for the Fire, defeating the Michigan Wolves 4-2 on the road. The match was highlighted by a pair of braces from Noah George and Miguel Campos. Campos currently leads the U-13’s with six goals this season, following a hat-trick performance against Indiana Fire Academy on Sept. 24 at the SeatGeek Stadium turf fields. Saturday’s match was the second meeting between the two academies, with the prior meeting resulting in a 1-1 tie on Sept. 25.

The Chicago Fire Academy plays host to FC United Soccer Club this Saturday, Oct. 8 with action between every Academy age group taking place at the SeatGeek Stadium turf fields. The U-13 and U-15’s kickoff at 10 a.m. CT, with the U-14 and U-17’s scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. CT.
