Fire Academy goalkeeper Damian Las has been named by head coach Dave Van Den Bergh to the 18-player roster for the CONCACAF U-15 Championship, which will run from Aug. 13-19 at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
The United States have been drawn into group B with Canada, Costa Rica and Trinidad and Tobago. The U.S. side opens play against Canada on Sunday, August 13, followed by Trinidad and Tobago on Monday, August 14 and Costa Rica on Wednesday, August 16.
If the USA finish first or second in group play, they will face the runner-up or winner of Group A, respectively, consisting of Mexico, Honduras, Jamaica and Panama in the semifinals on Thursday, August 17. Should the USA advance past the semifinal match, they would play in the final on Saturday, August 19.
A native of Norridge, Ill., Las was named by MLSsoccer.com in April as a Player to Watch at the GA Cup, with analyst Will Parchman tabbing Las as "one of the most promising young American keepers anywhere" and "uncommonly smart for his age."
Las, who also participated in U.S. U-15 camp in January, was a USSDA Central Conference Best XI selection at the conclusion of the 2016-17 Academy season.
