The Chicago Fire U-15/16 side kicked off their time at the annual Winter Showcase in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. with a 2-2 draw against Juventus Sport Club (CA), rallying from down 2-0 courtesy of goals scored by Eduardo Garcia and Andrew Akindele
One day later, it was another draw against a California-based club, this time the San Jose Earthquakes Academy, as Victor Bezerra provided the Fire's lone goal in the match:
The weekend closed with a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the New England Revolution, leaving Chicago with a 7-3-4 fall record and in fourth place in the Central Conference's Mid-America Division.
U-15/16
It was a similar story at the U-15/16 level, where the Fire also recorded back-to-back draws to open play, the first a scoreless match with Seattle Sounders FC. The Fire then walked away with a point in a 2-2 draw with Strikers FC (CA), with Christian Marquez and David Mendoza each finding net for Chicago. The action culminated with a 3-1 win over Portland Timbers Academy,
The win lifted the Fire to a 5-7-2 record through the fall season, standing in seventh place in the Mid-America Division.
Both sides will resume play on Saturday, March 11 against partner club Indiana Fire DA.
