The Chicago Fire Academy teams were in action this past weekend, defeating St. Louis Scott Gallagher Metro on the road by matching 2-1 scorelines in all three of their USSDA matches held on Saturday, April 23.
After conceding a goal in the 82nd minute, the U-18s pulled off a comeback win led by goals from Louis St. John in the 88th minute and a 91st minute game-winner by Matt Moderwell. The Fire stand fourth in the Mid-America Division table (9-3-4, 1.9375 ppg).
Gilberto Angeles put the U-16s on the board first in the 8th minute. After Scott Gallagher equalized in the 76th minute, Robbie Alonzo scored the game-winning goal with the last kick of the match in the fourth minute of second half stoppage time. The win has the Fire in third place in their division (10-5-1, 1.9375 ppg).
In the U-14s match, Carlos Cepeda converted a penalty kick in the 21st minute to draw the U-14s level at 1-1 before Josue Fernandez scored the winning goal in the 62nd minute.
The Academy teams next face Chicago Magic PSG at the College of DuPage on Saturday, April 30.
