The Chicago Fire Academy teams were on the road this weekend, taking on the Cleveland Internationals on Saturday, May 21 and the Crew SC Academy on Sunday, May 22 in USSDA action.
The U-18s picked up two shutouts over the weekend, defeating the Internationals 2-0 courtesy of goals from Aniba Mendoza and Djordje Mihalovic, and Crew SC 3-0 with goals from Mihalovic, Matthew Moderwell and Andrew Akindele.
Goals from Gilberto Angeles, Victor Bezerra, Anthony Markanich and Adrian Ortega led the U-16s to a 4-1 win over the Internationals. Angeles and Bezerra struck again on Sunday as the U-16s drew Crew SC 2-2.
Carlos Cepeda scored the lone goal for the U-14s in a 3-1 loss to the Internationals. The U-14s won their match against Crew SC by a score of 4-1, with goals from Emmanuel Castenon, Michael Flores, David Ochoa and David Mendoza.
All three teams are back in action on Saturday (May 28) to face Sockers FC at Nike Park Turf Field in Naperville. The U-18s kick off the tripleheader at 10:30 a.m.
