The 2018 Dallas Cup Champion Chicago Fire Soccer Academy Under-15 side is set to be recognized on-field for their recent accomplishments when the Fire first-team welcomes the San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday, May 9 (7:30 p.m. CT | TICKETS)
The Fire U-15s were crowned champions of the tournament back on Saturday, March 31, after a 2-0 victory over Albion SC at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Tx. courtesy of goals from Francisco Espinoza and Brian Gutierrez.
It was a banner tournament for the U-15s, who cruised through group play with three wins and a +9 goal differential against their counterparts from FC Dinastia, Maebashi FC, and Rio Rapids SC.
Luca Iaccino then helped power the side through the tournament quarterfinals, providing the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over FC Dallas. In the semifinals, the Fire again walked away 1-0 winners over FB Prepa Tec Monterrey after a goal from Missael Rodriguez that helped propel them to their 2-0 final victory.
Most recently, the U-15s kicked off the U.S. Soccer Development Academy spring season with a 2-1 win over the STLFC Academy on Sunday, April 8, at the St. Louis Soccer Park.
