Chicago Fire FC II Signs Defender Jean Alpha Diouf

CHICAGO (March 22, 2024) – Chicago Fire FC today announced that the Club has signed defender Jean Alpha Diouf (pronounced: JAWN Alpha dee-OOF) to an MLS NEXT Pro contract through the 2025 season, with a Club option for 2026. Diouf will occupy an international position on the roster, pending receipt of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC). Financial details were not disclosed.

“We are very happy to have Jean joining our Club,” said Chicago Fire II General Manager Alex Boler. “Jean was identified by our scouts via a well-known academy in Senegal and he is a player with an exciting profile and incredible potential.”

Diouf, 21, joins Chicago from Diambars FC de Saly of the Senegalese National League 1. At the international level, Diouf was part of the Senegal U-17 and U-20 National Team player pool. He was also a member of the Senegal Beach National Team and was a finalist in the 2023 Beach Soccer African Games in Tunisia. Prior to joining Diambars in August 2023, Diouf was a student and apprentice at Galaxy FA football school in Dakar, Senegal, since 2013.

“Jean’s experience as an international player will not only strengthen our backline, but also our entire team,” said Chicago Fire II Head Coach Ludovic Taillandier. “His ability to read the game, paired with his skill and athleticism will help him adapt quickly to the league and to Chicago.”
