CHICAGO (March 20, 2024) – MLS NEXT Pro and Chicago Fire FC today announced that Chicago Fire FC II’s home opening match against Toronto FC II has been rescheduled. The match will now be played on Wednesday, July 10, at 2:00 p.m. CT.
Kickoff times have also been updated for two other matches during the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro regular season. The match against New England Revolution II will now kick off at 12:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, May 4 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. Additionally, the match against Orlando City SC 2 will begin at 3:00 p.m. CT on Monday, Sept. 23, at Osceola County Stadium in Kissimmee, Fla.
Chicago Fire II is coming off a two-point opening weekend, earning a 1-1 draw at FC Cincinnati 2 on Sunday, March 17. Omari Glasgow scored the opening goal of the year in the 71st minute before Cincinnati equalized three minutes later. Romain Blake capped off a perfect penalty shootout and goalkeeper Patrick Los saved a penalty to add an additional road point for the Fire.
Next up for Chicago Fire II is a match against Chicago City SC at 7:00 p.m. CT on Wednesday, March 20, in the First Round of the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Admission and parking for the match will be free of cost for all fans, and tickets will be provided to attendees upon entrance at SeatGeek Stadium.
