After a dominant 4-0 win over the Houston Dynamo on Wednesday night, the Chicago Fire are well represented in Major League Soccer's Team of the Week for Week 13.
Leading the group is head coach Raphael Wicky, who was given the league's weekly coaching honors after a tactical shift in midfield (among other things) helped unlock the Fire attack and power his side to a convincing win at Soldier Field.
Also representing the Fire among the week's best XI are defenders Jonathan Bornstein and Francisco Calvo and midfielder Álvaro Medrán. The defensive duo helped lock down the Houston attack and earn a clean sheet, and Bornstein picked up his first assist of 2020 on the game's opening from Robert Berić.
Medrán was named the Heineken Man of the Match for his outing on Wednesday, which was highlighted by a slaloming solo dribble and finish in the 40th minute that began at midfield. Outside of the Team of the Week, Medrán is also in the running for MLS Player of the Week and MLS Goal of the Week for his effort, which fans can vote for via by clicking the respective highlighted links.
With his third goal in four games at Soldier Field, midfielder Fabian Herbers was additionally named to the Team of the Week bench.
