It’s been a memorable year for Fire rookie Harry Shipp.
The Lake Forest, Ill. native became the first Homegrown player in club history to make a Major League Soccer appearance, starting in a road match against the Portland Timbers on March 16.
The match in Cascadia was just the beginning for Shipp, as he went on to score a hat trick and added an assist in wild 5-4 win at Red Bull Arena on May 10 and finished the season leading all MLS rookies in appearances (33), starts (26), minutes (2,346), goals (tied with FC Dallas’ Tesho Akindele at seven) and assists (six).
Now, Chipotle is giving everyone a chance to look at what life was really like for Harry this year.
“Episode One: Roots” takes a look into Harry’s past growing up a Fire fan, on how staying at Notre Dame for the full four years helped prep for a jump to the pros, and how he came to sign a Homegrown contract with the Fire.
