Fans attending Saturday’s doubleheader at Soldier Field are advised to both arrive early ahead of the Chicago Fire’s 4 p.m. kickoff against Atlanta United and to additionally be advised of updated traffic patterns corresponding to Lollapalooza beginning at noon in Grant Park.
Here’s what to be aware of on Saturday based on your preferred mode of transportation to Soldier Field. Scroll to the bottom for an updated parking map:
If you’re driving:
- Columbus Drive will be closed from Monroe to Roosevelt
- Fans will be able to access Soldier Field via Roosevelt Road and NB and SB DuSable Lakeshore Drive
- Parking lots open at 1 p.m. CT
If you’re taking the CTA Train:
- Bus #146 and #130 will be operating from the Roosevelt CTA station to Soldier Field
- Pedestrians will cross Columbus Drive and take the path under Lakeshore Dr
- An expanded fleet of complimentary Tuk Tuk shuttles will be available for Fire and Red Stars fans from the Roosevelt CTA station to Soldier Field. They will begin operating one hour earlier than usual, from 1-4 p.m.
If you’re taking a rideshare service:
- The drop-off location will be in various locations throughout Museum Campus - the 18th Street turnaround west of Lake Shore Drive will be closed
- The pick-up location post-match will be on McFetridge Drive in front of the Field Museum
If you’re biking:
- Bike valet will be operating on the north side of Soldier Field on McFetridge Drive beginning at 2 p.m. CT and open until the 30 minutes after the Red Stars match ends
- Divvy bike stations are located in front of the Field Museum
If you’re tailgating:
- Tailgating will be allowed for the Fire match from 1-4 p.m.Â
- Tailgating will end at 4 p.m. for the Fire match
- Tailgating will be allowed for the Red Stars match from 4:30-7 p.m.
- Tailgating is not allowed after 7 p.m.
