CHICAGO (Sept. 17, 2024) – Chicago Fire FC and U.S. Soccer today announced that Chicago Fire Academy defender Hugo Berg, forward Darris Hyte, and midfielder Roko Pehar have been called to the U.S. U-16 Men’s Youth National Team for a training camp to be held from Sept. 15-22 in Fayetteville, Ga.

It is the first call-up for the trio under new head coach Alex Aldaz and the second time they have been to a U.S. Youth National Team camp together. The three Fire players were previously called to represent the U.S. when the team took part in a U-15 USMYNT training camp in April in Kennesaw, Ga.

Berg and Hyte most recently participated in the Vlatko Markovic Tournament in Northern Croatia in May, during which they faced Croatia, England, and Morrocco before defeating Japan 1-0 in the tournament final.

Berg and Hyte were most recently part of the U-15 Chicago Fire Academy team that won 2024 U-15 MLS NEXT Cup with a 3-1 victory against the LA Galaxy at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tenn. Hyte rounded out the scoring with the team’s third goal of the match and was named 2024 U-15 MLS NEXT Cup Most Valuable Player. Pehar did not participate in the tournament due to injury.
