NEW YORK (Monday, December 15, 2014) – Soldier Field and the city of Chicago will welcome the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup, hosting a Group C group round doubleheader – featuring the Mexican National Team – on July 9. The complete groups and schedule, including selection of dates and matches for the knockout round and the awarding of the Final, will be announced in 2015.

This will be the fifth consecutive CONCACAF Gold Cup hosted at Soldier Field, which includes two finals (2007 and 2013), two semifinals (2007 and 2009) and a group round doubleheader in 2011.
Aside from the Gold Cup, Soldier Field has also hosted United States men’s and women’s national soccer team matches, international exhibitions throughout the years. The historic stadium was renovated and reopened on September 29, 2003, with a reduced capacity of 61,500 and a new design that maintained the famous colonnades. Soldier Field has staged numerous high-profile events in its 84-year history, including five 1994 FIFA World Cup games.
Taking place every two years, the Gold Cup is the official national team championship of the region, routinely drawing capacity crowds and millions of viewers across the region. Featuring the best players from the confederation, the tournament includes the region’s current top 12 national teams.
