Chicago Fire FC goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina has been named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 32 coming out of his performance in Saturday night's 1-0 win over Real Salt Lake.
The 17-year-old Homegrown product made five saves on the night to help the Fire walk away with all three points in front of 31,308 fans at Soldier Field, including a particularly impressive full-stretch denial of a Maikel Chang header in the 60th minute:
With the 1-0 finish, Slonina picked up his fourth clean sheet of the season in what was his ninth start for the Club. He was additionally named Man of the Match for his effort.
Up next, Slonina and the Fire will hit the road to take on New York City FC on Wednesday night, and will look to make it a third-straight game without allowing a goal to their Eastern Conference counterparts.
