CHICAGO (February 8, 2015) — Chicago Fire Soccer Club goalkeeper Sean Johnson earned his fifth career cap with the United States Senior Men’s National Team Sunday. Johnson entered the match at halftime of the squad’s 2-0 victory over Panama in a friendly staged at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.
Johnson was lightly tested by the opposition in his 45 minutes of action, not needing to make a save in preserving the clean sheet for the U.S. side.

Before Sunday, Johnson had last appeared in a U.S. National Team fixture on July 16, 2013, during a Gold Cup matchup with Costa Rica. The sixth-year Fire netminder made his international debut vs. Chile on Jan. 22, 2011, and also has been capped on Jan. 25, 2012, vs. Panama, and Jan. 29, 2013, vs. Canada.
Johnson has been participating in U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann’s annual January training camp since Jan. 12. The camp reached its conclusion with Sunday’s victory against Los Canaleros, with Johnson due to rejoin his Chicago Fire teammates in the coming days.
