BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. -- The Chicago Fire Reserves (3-1-1) drew USL PRO side Richmond Kickers 0-0 Sunday afternoon at Toyota Park.
The Fire had two good looks on goal in the first half as Orr Barouch and Juan Luis Anangono had successive shots on goal but Richmond ‘keeper Joe Willis was able to save both chances.
In the 20th minute the Fire were awarded a free kick but with a strong defensive effort, Richmond defender William Yomby was able to deflect it to safety.
The Fire were awarded a penalty kick in the 89th minute after Giuseppe Gentile was taken down in the box. Barouch stepped up to the ensuing penalty kick but hit it directly at Willis as the match ended in a scoreless draw.
The Fire Reserves return to action on June 21 when they face USL PRO’s Wilmington Hammerheads at Legion Stadium in Wilmington, NC at 6:30 p.m. CT.
