After the pair accounted for three goals in Saturday's 4-0 win at home over FC Dallas, Chicago Fire attacking duo Przemysław Frankowski and CJ Sapong have been named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 28.
Frankowski was included in the squad's first XI after netting his second goal in as many matches in the 16th minute. The Polish winger slammed home a one-time finish on a cross from Brandt Bronico that extended the Fire lead to two early on. The goal was Frankowski's third of the season.He also notched his eighth assist on the season on the Fire's fourth goal late in the first half with a short cross on Nemanja Nikolić's near-post finish.
Sapong earned Heineken Man of the Match honors in a two-goal performance, after getting the Fire's first half goalfest started in the seventh minute. Sapong pounced on an errant Dallas back pass toward goalkeeper Jesse González, touching the ball past the young goalkeeper and tapping home the opening goal. Sapong got his second in the 29th minute on a headed finish from a Nicolás Gaitán corner kick to push his season scoring total to 12 goals. He was named to the Team of the Week bench.
