NOTEBOOK: Alex, Duka train in full, could be ready for Saturday at Philadelphia

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. – Chicago Fire coach Frank Klopas may have his entire midfield at his disposal when the Fire take on Philadelphia on Saturday.

Dilly Duka missed Saturday's 1-1 tie with Houston with a groin injury and Alex left the game with an ankle injury, but both practiced fully on Tuesday.

“I'm feeling way better right now,” Alex told MLSsoccer.com in Spanish. “I took a knock during the game, but I'm ready to go.”

Chicago have a stretch of three games in eight days, so depth will be important.

Duka strained his groin in the Fire's 4-1 win over D.C. United, and trained minimally over the weekend before working with the ball on Tuesday and practicing fully on Wednesday.

He hopes to be ready for Saturday's game, but with Joel Lindpere finding his form over the last few weeks, Klopas could hold him out for Wednesday's US Open Cup semi-final or next Saturday's game against Montreal.

“I feel better, it's getting better every day,” Duka told MLSsoccer.com. “I think those few days off definitely helped … We're going to take it day to day. I would love to [play on Saturday], but we'll take it day to day.
