Chicago Fire forward Nemanja Nikolic made a late cameo appearance for Hungary in Tuesday's 1-0 defeat to Scotland at the Groupama Aréna in Budapest.
Nikolic was subbed on in the 83rd minute to replace Roland Varga with his team looking for an equalizer. Scotland had gone ahead just after halftime, when Mathew Phillips scored in the 48th minute. The result would hold despite Nikolic's late injection, leaving the Hungarians winless over the latest FIFA international window following Friday's defeat to Kazakhstan.
Nikolic -- who has two goals through two matches for the Fire in 2018 -- will now return to the club ahead of Saturday's match against the Portland Timbers at Toyota Park (5 p.m. CT, MLS LIVE | TICKETS). He is expected to be available for selection.
