Nemanja Nikolic officially added the 2017 MLS Golden Boot award to his trophy shelf Saturday night, receiving the hardware in a brief prematch ceremony prior to the Fire's 2-2 draw against Portland.
Former Fire striker and U.S. Men's National Team great Brian McBride had the privilege of formally presenting his goal-scoring brethren with the honor, which Nikolic claimed with his 24-goal campaign in his inaugural MLS season.
Nikolic, who has claimed Golden Boot honors in three different top-flight divisions around the world, went on to score his third goal of 2018 and the 27th of his Fire tenure in the 2-2 affair.
Niko accepted the honor while sporting a commemorative Golden Boot scarf created by members of Section 8 Chicago.
