CHICAGO (April 21, 2014) – The Chicago Fire fell 2-0 to the Rochester Rhinos Monday morning in MLS Reserve League action. Minh Vu and JC Banks scored as the USL-PRO side won 2-0 at Toyota Park.
The Rhinos opened scoring in the 22nd minute when Minh Vu received a great ball from Tyler Rosenlund that bounced over the Fire defense and with a right-footed chip, lofted the ball over Fire ‘keeper Alec Kann for the 1-0 lead.
Banks doubled the lead in the 81st minute when he raced in and took a low, driven shot on goal. Kann raced off his line and got a foot to it, but the ball ricocheted off him and bounced into the goal.
The Fire return to action when they hit the road to take on the Charlotte Eagles at UNC Charlotte on Friday, April 25 at 6 p.m. CT.
