As a holding midfielder and outside back, Matt Polster hasn't found the net too often in his three years as a Chicago Fire player. But when he has, he hasn't skimped on style points.
Polster needed just eight minutes to open the scoring in the Fire's 4-1 win over New England Saturday night, doing so with a superb individual effort and outside-of-the-boot finish past the Revs' Cody Cropper. It was Polster's first goal of the season and just his third in 70 career regular season matches.
All three, however, are worthy of another look (and another, and another). In fact, Polster's first career MLS goal, scored last July against the New York Red Bulls, even earned 2016 Chicago Fire Goal of the Year honors.
