Chicago Fire FC midfielder Álvaro Medrán has been named to the Week 10 MLS Team of the Week for his two-assist performance vs. the Philadelphia Union on Saturday.
With the Fire trailing 2-1 in the second half, the Spaniard bagged a pair of helpers in an 11-minute span to help Chicago take the lead.
He first set up defender Boris Sekulić for a strong header off a free kick before delivering a well-placed cross off a corner to create a one-time finish for Homegrown defender/midfielder Mauricio Pineda
The Union went on to equalize late via a Fire own goal, as the two sides shared the points, 3-3.
Up next, Medrán and the Fire play the third of four straight home games on Saturday night, when Atlanta United come to town for a 7 pm CT kick on WGN and CFFC Live.
The first 10,000 fans at Soldier Field will receive a woven-patch of the Fire's new crest. And be sure to stick around postmatch for a fireworks show on the lakefront. Tickets are available now here.
