Chicago plays its second game against St. Louis CITY SC in five days, officially kicking off the two teams’ Major League Soccer rivalry on Saturday afternoon along Lake Michigan at Soldier Field.

Chicago is looking to rebound from a road loss to Nashville last weekend and build on the momentum ignited by a 2-1 win against St. Louis CITY SC in the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 on Tuesday, May 9, at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois. They face a St. Louis side that has started off their inaugural season strong, sitting in second place in the Western Conference (6-3-1, 19 points).

Kickoff today is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. The match will also be transmitted locally in English on wlsam.com and in Spanish on TUDN 1200 AM.

  • Seven changes were made to the lineup that faced Nashville SC in Matchday 11 of the MLS regular season and three changes were made to the XI that faced St. Louis CITY SC on Tuesday, May 9, in the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
  • Forward Kei Kamara leads the attack, playing in the 401st MLS match of his career.
  • Brian Gutiérrez gets the nod on the left wing, with Fabian Herbers taking charge of the left wing. Both players flank the No. 10, Xherdan Shaqiri who lines up in the middle of the pitch.
  • Swiss midfielder Shaqiri will wear the captain’s armband against St. Louis today.
  • Supporting the attacking midfielders are the Argentine duo of Federico Navarro and Gastón Giménez, who controlled the center of the park in the previous match against St. Louis on Tuesday night.
  • Colombian defender Carlos Téran rejoins the starting XI, replacing defender Wyatt Omsberg on the backline that faced St. Louis earlier in the week. He lines up with Miguel Navarro, Mauricio Pineda and Arnaud Souquet  
  • 19-year-old goalkeeper Chris Brady backstops the unit in net tonight, making his ninth start of the campaign.
  • Available to Klopas as substitutions today are goalkeeper Spencer Richey, defenders Alonso Aceves, Carlos Téran, Wyatt Omsberg, Kendall Burks, midfielders Jairo Torres and forwards Missael Rodríguez, Georgios Koutsias, and Kacper Przybyłko.
  • Midfielder Maren Haile-Selassie (concussion protocol), midfielder Jonathan Dean (left leg) and midfielder Chris Mueller (hip) are unavailable for selection due to injury tonight. Mueller was a late scratch, acquiring the injury after the submission of the official player availability report.
