Just one week after Logan Pause ended his playing career with the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, the 12-year Club veteran has accepted a role in the front office. Pause will serve as a club vice president, working across a host of departments on both business and technical matters. Pause will begin his new role December 1.

“I have gotten to know Logan well over the past few years, so even before he informed us of his decision to hang up his boots, we’d been thinking about a role for him at the Club” said Fire COO Atul Khosla. “Logan wants to win, both on and off the pitch, and he will be a great ambassador for the Fire."

Added Pause, “Andrew (Hauptman) was the first call I made when I decided to retire.  He immediately asked how I saw myself fitting in at the Club moving forward and offered his ideas. The Chicago Fire Soccer Club is at my heart and soul and I’m thrilled to be taking on this new challenge in the organization.”

In his new capacity, Pause will serve in an expansive role, supporting commercial initiatives in corporate and ticket sales, working as an ambassador for community programming and developing relationships with supporters and fans. On the soccer front, he will see a wide range of responsibility, primarily with Academy and affiliated teams.

“I feel like a rookie again,” said Pause. “It’s going to be a little different parking my car and going upstairs to work.  I couldn’t be happier, though, and am ready to roll up my sleeves.”

Fire fans wouldn’t expect anything less.
