The Chicago Fire announced Monday that defender Johan Kappelhof has received his U.S. Green Card, granting him permanent resident status in the United States.
Kappelhof will no longer occupy an International Roster Spot on the Fire roster.
The 2017 MLS All-Star selection has appeared in 69 matches for the Fire (67 starts) since signing prior to the 2016 season, including 90 minutes shifts in each of the Fire's first three matches of 2018.
