Saturday's game will mark the second matchup between the Fire and Sporting Kansas City in 2020 after the Fire suffered a 1-0 defeat at Childrenâs Mercy Park on Oct. 7. The Fire and Sporting Kansas City haven't met twice in MLS regular season play since 2014, when SKC was part of the Eastern Conference. Kansas City shifted to the Western Conference ahead of the 2015 season to accommodate the respective arrivals of expansion sides Orlando City SC and New York City FC.
