While the stadium opened in April of 2019, the lone meeting between the Fire and the Loons last season came on May 11 at SeatGeek Stadium. The Fire have played on the road against Minnesota only once since the team began play in MLS in 2017, a 2-1 defeat at United's former home of TCF Bank Stadium on March 17, 2018.
