The Chicago Fire's Nicolas Hasler put in an 86-minute shift in Liechtenstein's first UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying match against Greece on Saturday, but found his side on the losing end of a 2-0 result at the Rheinpark Stadion in Vaduz, Liechtenstein.
Hasler lined up on the right wing of head coach Helgi Kolviðsson's 4-1-4-1 formation from the outset, earning his 70th appearance at the international level in the process. He'd exit after 86 minutes for substitute Noah Frick, as goals from Greece's Konstantinos Fortounis (45'+1') and Anastasios Donis (80') ultimately secured three points for the visitors and relegated Liechtenstein to a sixth-place start in qualifying group J.
The Liechtenstein side will resume their qualifying campaign with a trip to face Italy at Stadio Ennio Tardini in Parma, Italy on Tuesday, March 26 at 2:45 p.m. CT.
