Chicago Fire defender Francisco Calvo made it two consecutive matches with a goal for Costa Rica on Sunday, nodding in a first half header to help secure a vital point in Concacaf Nations League play and win Group D.
In front of the Estadio Ricardo Saprissa crowd, Calvo and the home side finished 1-1 against Haiti, a result that pushed them into sole possession of first place in Group D of League A. Calvo's goal -- his sixth for the national team -- came in the 27th minute on a Costa Rica free kick.
Haiti's Duckens Nazon would level in the 38th minute on a penalty kick, splitting the points between both sides.
Costa Rica now moves on to the first-ever Concacaf Nations League Final Championship, where they'll take part in an elimination bracket among the three other League A group winners, to be decided Monday. The semifinals will take place in June 2020.
