CHICAGO (Oct. 11, 2024) – Chicago Fire FC and U.S. Soccer today announced that four Chicago Fire Academy players were called up to a U.S. U-15 Men’s Youth National Team domestic training camp from Oct. 13-19. Adrian Cerda, Christopher Morales, Jason Nemo and Robert Turdean will travel to Fayetteville, Ga. for the upcoming camp. Also joining the four players are Chicago Fire Academy coaches Sammy Castellanos and Bruno Cardoso.

Led by U-15 USMYNT Head Coach Tom Heinemann, the upcoming domestic camp serves as the opening event of a new cycle for 2010-born players. With four players on the roster, the Chicago Fire Academy has the most representatives at the upcoming camp. Only four other academies have multiple representatives.

The trio of Morales, Nemo, and Turdean will each reprise their roles with the U.S. Men’s Youth National Team. The upcoming camp will serve as their second call-up together, but their first at the U-15 level. Last March, the trio participated in a domestic camp together before taking part in a Talent Identification camp from May 25-30 at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.

For Cerda, this will mark his first call-up to the U.S. Men’s Youth National Team as a member of the Chicago Fire Academy. Last year, Cerda took part in the aforementioned Talent Identification camp last May as a member of Bavarian United SC. This will mark the first time the four representatives take part in a camp all together.

Castellanos, head coach of the Fire’s U-18 side, will be a part of Heinemann’s staff in the upcoming camp once again. Cardoso, a former professional footballer and current goalkeeper coach within the Fire Academy, will assist Heinemann in the upcoming cycle.
