Five Things You Should Know on Saturday's game vs. D.C. United

Jeff Larentowicz

The Chicago Fire return to action Saturday night at home against Eastern Conference cellar dwellers D.C. United (LIVE 7pm CT on My50 and La Ley 107.9 FM).

Here are five things you should know heading into tonight's match:

Mobile App 2.0 Launches!

This 5 Things coincides well with the fact that the Chicago Fire have launched a new and improved mobile app powered by Cricket Wireless, now available on IOS and later today on Google Play.

There’s a lot more functionality in the update and certainly a must-download for any Fire supporter. Download and you'll be entered into a drawing to win:

· Autographed Mike Magee jersey

· Cricket Wireless prize pack

· $150 spending spree in the Chicago Fire Fan Shop

· Two VIP tickets to a Fire home match

OR

· Grand prize: Dinner with two Chicago Fire players!

Segares and Pause are Back

It’s been almost a month since Logan Pause has taken the field for the Fire after leaving in the 26th minute of the team’s 2-1 win over Columbus back on June 22 with a lower back injury.

QUIZ: Test your Fire/United knowledge and be entered to win a team-signed ball

On Wednesday the captain went 58 minutes in the Reserves 5-3 win over the Crew and said he felt no pain. Seems he’s set to return along with Gonzalo Segares who was suspended for last week’s 3-1 defeat at Vancouver because of card accumulation.

Larentowicz Card Watch

Logan Pause coming back is always a good thing but especially with fellow central midfielder Jeff Larentowicz sitting on four yellow cards. Another caution tonight would see the Fire vice captain out for next week’s game at Houston.

The Fire central midfield corps were a bit short-handed last week at Vancouver with Pause injured and Daniel Paladini serving the first game of his two-match suspension for his tackle on Dom Dwyer late in the team’s 2-1 loss to Sporting KC on July 7.

Fire Confidential Podcast

The All-In Podcast has been on a bit of a hiatus (returning next week!) but in the mean time, the Fire Confidential Podcast has been great. This week, Jeff Krause and Guillermo Rivera spoke with Fire President of Soccer Operations Javier Leon to discuss a potentially imminent player signing…Listen here.
