It’s not an army of 600 but I’ll be joining a slightly smaller (but still impressive) group of 175 Fire supporters at Crew Stadium (better known in Chicago as FireHouse East) Saturday night.

Weather.com is calling for a high of 88 degrees in Columbus today with a kickoff temperature of 80 and 60% humidity.


Already three wins in one year?

Saturday night the Fire have an opportunity to earn three wins against the Crew in 2013. While the Fire have beaten plenty of MLS sides three times in one season (see Toronto FC last year), a win tonight would mark the earliest date in club history the team achieved the feat


The Fire are 8-0-0 vs. Columbus in the month of June

I know right? Who thinks of that stat?

Well as I was thinking of ways to justify that stat with the fact that the Fire are in the midst of a three games in eight-day stretch and that Columbus rested at midweek, I looked up the team’s record vs. the Crew in June.


Five wins in regular season play and three in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup should give some peace to Fire fans that might be nervous about tonight’s match.
