CHICAGO(June 23, 2017) – The Chicago Fire announced Friday that the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 match against USL side FC Cincinnati on Wednesday, June 28 at Nippert Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and streamed on the ESPN app. Kickoff also has been adjusted and is now set for 7 p.m. CT. Tickets for the game are on sale at FCCincinnati.com/tickets.
The Fire advanced to the Round of 16 after defeating Saint Louis FC 1-0 on June 14 at Toyota Stadium in Fenton, Mo.
Should Chicago advance to the quarterfinal round, they would travel to face the winner of Miami FC (NASL) and Atlanta United FC (MLS). That match would take place between July 7-16.
Since their inaugural season in 1998, the Fire have compiled a 42-14-5 record in Open Cup play. Chicago has reached the semifinal round 12 times and the final six times. Additionally, the Fire have hoisted the coveted Dewar Trophy four times – 1998, 2000, 2003, and 2006.
