CHICAGO (May 30, 2017) ā The Chicago Fire begin their 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup campaign when they enter the storied tournament in the fourth round against USL side Saint Louis FC. The Men In Red will travel to Toyota Stadium at World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton, Mo. on Wednesday, June 14, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. CT.
Saint Louis FC advanced Tuesday (May 30) with a 2-1 win over PDL side Michigan Bucks. The match on June 14 will be the first competitive fixture between the Fire and their former USL affiliate club.
In addition to its four trophies raised in the historic tournament, the Fire have appeared in a U.S. Open Cup-record 12 tournament semifinals, including an active run of four straight years and five of the last six. The Fire own an all-time U.S. Open Cup record of 41-14-5.
