CHICAGO(June 25, 2017) – The Chicago Fire announced today that midfielders David Accam and Dax McCarty have been called in to their respective national teams for upcoming international fixtures. McCarty has been selected by head coach Bruce Arena for the United States’ final 23-man roster for the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup, while Accam is set to join Ghana ahead of friendlies against Mexico and the United States.
McCarty and the U.S. begin their Gold Cup training camp in Nashville, Tenn. on June 25 before traveling to Connecticut for a July 1 friendly against Ghana (3:45 p.m. CT). The U.S. have been drawn into Group B and will face Panama on July 8 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Martinique on July 12 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, and Nicaragua on July 15 at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland.
The tournament runs through July with the final scheduled for Wednesday, July 26 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

McCarty was most recently called in for the two 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches, a 2-0 win over Trinidad & Tobago on June 8 and a 1-1 road draw with Mexico on June 11. McCarty has six career caps with the U.S. Men's National Team
Accam and the Black Stars face Mexico at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on June 28 at 7:30 p.m. CT before taking on the U.S. at Pratt & Whitney Stadium in East Hartford, Conn. on Saturday, July 1. Accam has departed for camp and will return to Chicago on Sunday, July 2.
Accam made his first senior appearance for Ghana on Jan. 19, 2015 in the 2015 African Cup of Nations. He has since made a total of seven apperances for his country and scored his first international goal against Mauritius on June 14, 2015.
