CHICAGO(March 16, 2016) – Chicago Fire midfielder David Accam has been selected by Ghanaian National Team head coach Avram Grant for Ghana’s upcoming 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Mozambique on March 24 and 27.
A native of Accra, Ghana, Accam made his senior debut against Senegal on Jan. 19, 2015 in the Black Stars’ Africa Cup of Nations opener and and has since earned five caps and scored one goal.
Ghana currently sit atop Group H and host Mozambique at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 24 before traveling to Estádio do Zimpeto in Maputo, Mozambique on March 27.
Accam, who has recorded two goals and one assist in two matches for Chicago this season, will depart following the Fire’s home match against Columbus Crew SC on Saturday, March 19 at 4 p.m. CT (CSN Chicago Plus/97.5 FM Poder).
