The countdown to the start of Copa America Centenario reached 50 days on Thursday (April 14), but fans in Chicago don’t need to wait to see the prestigious Copa America trophy in their own backyard.
The Copa America Centenario Local Organizing Committee has announced that the trophy will be on site at Toyota Park Saturday for the Chicago Fire’s home match against the Montreal Impact. Kickoff for the match is set for 4 p.m. and tickets are available via Ticketmaster, via phone at 888-MLS-FIRE or at the Toyota Park box office. The match will air live on Comcast SportsNet Chicago Plus.
Fans will have the opportunity to view and take photos with the trophy at the following locations on matchday:
- Fire Fest (Outside Gate B): 2:30-3:30 p.m.
- First Half (through 35th minute): Season Ticket Holder Headquarters | Northeast Concourse
- Second Half (through 75th minute): Heineken Second Star Club
- Post-Match: Stadium Club

Copa America Centenario officially kicks off on Friday, June 2 when the U.S. Men's National Team faces Colombia at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. Chicago's Soldier Field is slated to host three group stage matches as part of the event: Jamaica vs. Venezuela (June 5), the United States vs. Costa Rica (June 7) and Argentina vs. Panama (June 10). Soldier Field also will be a host site for one of the tournament's two semifinal matches.

The Copa America Centenario is a once-in-a-lifetime event, honoring 100 years of the Copa America tournament and featuring some of the world's best teams and players. This historic tournament will feature the top star players from North, South and Central America, as well as the Caribbean. Lionel Messi, Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, David Luiz, James Rodriguez, Kaka, Michael Bradley, Clint Dempsey and many more are expected to take part.
