Chicago Fire Waive Defender Kevin Ellis and Midfielder Tony Tchani

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (Aug. 9, 2018) – The Chicago Fire today announced that the Club has waived defender Kevin Ellis and midfielder Tony Tchani.


Ellis signed with the Fire on March 9, 2018, after spending the first seven seasons of his professional career with Sporting Kansas City. This season, Ellis scored two goals and added four assists in 20 league matches. He also played in two Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup games.


Acquired via a trade with Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Feb. 28, 2018, Tchani scored one goal in 13 league matches. He also played in three Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup games.
